Mr. Ramaswami concentrates his practice in the areas of labor and employment law, business litigation, and healthcare. As part of his practice, he counsels businesses and executives on all aspects of employment law, non-competes, trade secrets, and other restrictive covenants, unfair competition, and business torts, including partnership and shareholder disputes and corporate breakups, across a diverse array of industries and across multiple jurisdictions.

Abhishek is adept at providing advice and counsel to businesses on issues of proper classification of workers, FLSA exemptions, hiring and terminating decisions, restrictive covenant enforceability and trade secret protection, severance and exit strategies, privacy issues, accommodations, discrimination and harassment, artificial intelligence liability, workplace investigations, remote and multi-jurisdictional employer issues, compliance with ever-changing state and federal laws governing the workplace, and other business and employment issues. On the transactional side, Abhishek is skilled at drafting and negotiating employment agreements, noncompete agreements, and handbooks and policies.

Abhishek aims to help businesses “issue spot” and identify legal and compliance risks before they escalate. Coming from a family of physicians, the niche of Mr. Ramaswami’s practice focuses on employment and business issues impacting physicians and healthcare entities, including physician employment and noncompete agreements.

Abhishek is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Florida, New York, and New Jersey. He is the current Vice Chair of the DuPage County Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section and Vice Chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Antitrust Committee.
