Mr. McLean
concentrates his practice in business counseling and commercial
litigation. In his practice, Mr. McLean works closely with his
clients in developing pragmatic business and litigation strategies
in order to provide them cost-effective legal services. Mr. McLean
has obtained several multi-million dollar judgments and settlements
on behalf of business plaintiffs and has successfully defeated
numerous multi-million dollar claims against his clients.
His expertise
in corporate law includes wide experience in the entire spectrum of
business matters on behalf of individuals, financial institutions, partnerships, limited
liability companies and corporations, including closely held
businesses and Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. McLean has
successfully litigated a vast array of cases through trial and
appeal in matters involving contractual breaches, landlord-tenant
disputes, employment actions, partnership and shareholder disputes,
trade secrets, trademarks and intellectual property, non-competition covenants,
will contests and probate claims, banking disputes,
mortgage foreclosures, lien claims, environmental issues, insurance coverage and various
other commercial disputes. Mr. McLean also represents a variety of
governmental and non-profit organizations concerning employment
issues, litigation defense and organizational matters.
Mr. McLean
received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Government
and Sociology from the University of Notre Dame in 1983. He received
his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Notre Dame Law School in
1988. He is admitted to the Illinois Bar, the Federal Trial Bar of
the Northern District of Illinois and the Bar of the United States
Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Mr. McLean serves as a regional
director on the Board of
Directors for Notre Dame Law School Association. He also serves on the Board of
Trustees of Marmion Academy in Aurora and
has completed two terms as President of the Annunciation
Pastoral Council in Aurora.
